Kelli A. Myers, C.I.A.O.. Assessor

Kelli Myers is the Dorr Township Assessor. Kelli has been with Dorr Township since October of 1994, starting as Chief Deputy and appointed as Assessor in 2005. Kelli holds a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer Designation with the Illinois Property Assessment Institute and is a member of IAAO, the International Association of Assessing Officers.

Patty is our Deputy Assessor. Patty has been with Dorr Township since April of 2004. Patty has earned a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer Designation with the Illinois Property Assessment Institute.

Gail has been with Dorr Township for twelve years. Gail is responsible for the data input for each of the property records as well as processing exemptions.

Becky is a field technician. The majority of her time is spent outside of the office gathering data on all commercial and industrial properties and new residential construction.

Judy is also a field technician. The majority of her time is also spent outside of the office gathering data on permits taken out on existing properties and verifying property information.

Duties of the Assessor

By state statute assessments are based solely on the market value of the property. The tax burden is to be evenly spread over all the taxable property.

Accordingly, the assessor's responsibility is:

• Discover, list and appraise all real property in the jurisdiction.
• Ensure that each property is at the statutory level of market value.
• Assure that similar property is equitably valued.

Each year, the office reviews each section of the township to determine any changes to the market value based on sales within the township.
