History
Dorr Township did not get its permanent name until 1850. It was known officially
as Woodstock Precinct, named as such by the Commissioner's Court on June 3, 1845.
Then, in 1850, when the township system was adopted, the first name given was
Center Township. Later that year, a group of citizens not liking the name of Center
Township, chose the name Dorr for a Rhode Island governor. (More

The
McHenry County Department of Health would like your assistance in the fight against
flu. The flu (influenza) is caused by a virus that's easy to spread, and it can
be more dangerous than people think. Every year in the U.S., 200,000 people are
hospitalized and 36,000 people die from influenza. A flu shot is a person's best
chance to avoid the flu.
This
year, we are pleased to offer preservative(mercury)-free vaccines at all our adult
community clinics. Also, we have a new online scheduling system, so when you visit
our website at www.mcdh.info
you can schedule your own appointment. You can also make an appointment by phone
by calling 815-334-4510, between 8 am - 4:30 pm.

Woodstock Police Department has recognized that many senior citizens within Woodstock

each day. To serve the needs of those citizens the Woodstock Police Department
has implemented the program.
Citizens
interested in the Senior Call In Program or Neighborhood Watch are encouraged
to contact Tamara Reed at the Police Department (338-2131) during the hours of
