Freedom of Information (FOIA) Requests
FOIA requests for copies or inspection of records may be submitted in writing via personal delivery, mail, fax or email.  Emails should be addressed to supervisor@dorrtownship.com.  Please provide as much information as possible on the subject matter to help expedite the search process.  The person submitting the request should include their name, address, telephone number and email address.  All requests should state whether or not the request is for commercial purposes.  For your convenience, you may download a FOIA Request Form or pick one up at Dorr Township, but you are not required to do so.


General & Emergency Assistance
General Assistance provides financial assistance for residents with little or no income.  Applicants must meet specific state guidelines to qualify.  Emergency Assistance is also available for families, who qualify, for relief of life-threatening circumstances once in a twelve month period.  Applications are available at the office or you may download the forms.  We also provide referrals to other agencies, when necessary.


Salvation Army Emergency Assistance
Dorr Township is an extension center for the Salvation Army of McHenry County, serving residents of Woodstock with a 60098 zip code.  Emergency assistance is provided through vouchers written directly to the service provider.  Assistance given may include help with rent, utilities, and medical prescriptions, and gasoline, clothing, and food vouchers.  The Salvation Army is a faith based agency which relies on donations, making its programs subject to availability.

The Dorr Township Office also participates with the Nicor Gas Sharing program which provides assistance with natural gas bills for needy people.  Applications are available during those months in which the program is operating.

Transportation Services
Dorr Township has entered into an agreement with McHenry County to provide transportation services for its senior and disabled residents in unincorporated areas. All riders must be registered. The service area is the area within McHenry County defined by: the borders of the Dorr Township and McHenry Township and the borders of City of Crystal Lake, the City of McHenry and the City of Woodstock.
 
A curb-to-curb, dial-a-ride service operating Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A previous day reservation is required. Water Testing
Dorr Township participates in the McHenry County Department of Health well water testing program.  Test bottles and instructions are available from this office during regular office hours.  Water samples can be dropped off at Dorr Township on Tuesdays, before noon, except on holidays.


Voters Services
Residents of Dorr Township may register to vote at any time at the Township offices at 140 Newell Street in Woodstock.  Voter registration closes 28 days before each election.

Notary Services
Notary Public Services are available for Dorr Township residents during regular business hours at the Assessor’s office.
